Job Location: Amman – Jordan

Qualifications & Experience:

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance
• Professional qualification CA / CIMA / ACCA /CPA
• A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in external audit with the Big Four or with a Finance & Accounting function in an international Group.
• Experience within the insurance industry is preferred.
• Understanding and knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards of U.S. GAAP.
• Understanding of bookkeeping and accounting concepts, practices, benchmarks, rules, and regulations.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication and presentation skills that will allow for effective interaction and communication with business partners across territories and functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for preparing the Group’s consolidated financial statements in line with the US GAAP requirements.
• Oversight and monitoring of monthly bank reconciliation process for all current and operating accounts maintained with all banks.
• Oversight and monitoring of the monthly bookkeeping and record maintenance of pre–paid/accruals/advances/deposits. Undertake proper accounting of the transactions in periodic intervals.
• Assist in coordination with internal, SOX and external Finance auditors to ensure smooth audit functions in line with the agreed reporting timelines.
• Support in conducting the reviews performed by management over the key financial information, calculations, valuations, budget to actual variances. The review involves comparisons of recorded amounts with associated projections/forecasts and requires detailed documentation that satisfies the external audit requirements under (PCAOB) and (SOX) standards as well.
• Assist in design and implementation of internal control framework over financial reporting process and encompass all the relevant process within this framework particularly in areas of insurance accounting and general accounting.
• Assist in documenting complex transactions and related accounting conclusions in line with US GAAP requirements.
• Work closely with VP Finance for insurance data integration of designated units from core insurance system to Accounting System at periodic rests, insurance accounts finalization and required coordination with all relevant departments and functions across the organization.
• Ensure adherence to all periodical checklists to ensure effective financial statement closing process within agreed timeline for all reporting cycles.
• Work as a core team member in coordination, development and update of standard operating policies and procedures over Group financial reporting process particularly in areas related to his work domain.
• Assist in preparation of the quarterly management reporting packs backed by comprehensive commentary, analytics, charts, and dashboards.

• Work on corporate projects and initiatives that impact the entire organization, as and when required
